KNOWN EFFECTS

Depresses central nervous system in high amounts. Dilates pupils of eyes. Decreases heart rate. Increases blood pressure. Interferes with absorption of iron and other minerals when taken internally.

UNPROVED SPECULATED BENEFITS

Decreases thickness and increases fluidity of mucus from lungs and bronchial tubes. Acts as a sedative. Treats asthma. Treats bronchitis. Soothes and heals burns when applied topically. Treats vaginitis. Is used in poultices as a means of applying medications. (See Glossary)

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS

Don't take if you:
Are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or plan pregnancy in the near future.

Consult your doctor if you:
Take this herb for any medical problem that doesn't improve in 2 weeks. There may be safer, more-effective treatments.
